Continuous Improvement and Sustainable Success: Outcomes, Assessment, and the Path Forward

2022 Outcomes and Assessment Conference

We are excited to announce the 2022 Outcomes and Assessment Conference, which will be held virtually on Friday, March 25, 2022.   We are looking forward to enriching sessions to help us explore this year’s theme, Continuous Improvement and Sustainable Success:  Outcomes, Assessment, and the Path Forward.

Overview

“For most American colleges and universities, the pendulum has swung from the heyday of growth, prosperity, and public favor to new times that call for institutions to adapt themselves to current harsher realities … The challenges of institutional change presented by the new environment are daunting. For institutions to be successful, change must be both intentional and continuous.” 1

The higher education landscape, particularly for community colleges, is quite dynamic, and recent events have emphasized our need to be agile and continue to grow in new and varied ways to support student success.  To this end, we have successfully collaborated across disciplines, schools/campuses, and colleges in many different ways.  Yet, we have not always successfully centered assessment or continuous improvement as a means of sustainable knowledge making and growth.  In the 2022 Outcomes and Assessment Conference, we will discuss ways in which we might shift thinking away from assessment as an insular goal to assessment as an aspect of our broader continuous improvement cycle to support sustainable success.
