Meeting Students Where They are Through Storytelling

Session Description

Story interviews are almost always necessary in order to tell an interesting story. Stories can be healing and beneficial as people have the opportunity to pass on their wisdom and potentially help others. This session will showcase an inspiring new Instagram initiative and share ways to engage students.

Session Goals

"1. Share with others the creative initiative of using social media and storytelling to connect members of our community in the middle of a pandemic. 2. Share ways faculty and staff can use this concept and other ideas to create community, even virtually, through storytelling. "

Full Description

Story interviews (or narrative interviews) are almost always necessary in order to tell a rich, interesting story. Stories can be very healing and many people benefit from getting the opportunity to pass on their wisdom to others. This can be especially powerful for students who do not always feel that they have the chance to help others. This session will showcase our new initiative Community: Real People Real Stories sessions on Instagram and share different ways to engage students.
