When we use innovative and interactive instruction in our online learning environments, we provide students the opportunity to engage with the content they are learning. Take a peek into two professors’ approaches to adapting their courses to include virtual field experiences and improve online learning.

When we use innovative and interactive instruction in our online learning environments, we provide students the opportunity to engage with the content they are learning. This presentation focuses on ways to provide learning experiences that connect students’ prior knowledge to the course material while supporting students’ application of what they have learned. Take a peek into two professors’ approaches to adapting their courses to include virtual field experiences and improve online learning. We will explore the differences between gamification and game-based learning and how these techniques can be incorporated to engage and support students.
