Soccer is the most popular game in the world, 165,000 North Texas Soccer Association players live in the TVCC service area, and many of these players are Hispanic. 301 Texas high school men’s soccer teams and 207 women’s teams exist; however, only15 community college men’s soccer teams and 17 women’s soccer teams appear within the Texas regions of the National Junior College Athletic Association. This makes soccer in Texas a prime sport for community colleges to offer to future students.
