Dr. Janice Yoder Smith currently serves as an academic dean for Tarrant County College, Northwest Campus. She is a member of TCC's STEM, Assessment and Prior Learning Assessment Councils and serves on several work teams for TCC's 3 goals and 8 principles. She is a 2013 CLARA graduate and serves on the CLARA Advisory Council. She earned the Chancellor's Award for Exemplary Teaching and a NISOD Excellence Award in 2006. Prior to becoming a dean in 2012, Dr. Smith taught students taking anatomy and physiology, microbiology, and, occasionally, non-majors biology courses for 23 years. She also taught a variety of high schools science courses for five years prior to her employment by TCC.
