About the Presenter

Anna Mays is Associate Vice Chancellor for Educational Policy & Student Success, Dallas County Community College District. Since September, 2015, she has provided leadership for the increased involvement of local school districts and universities in initiatives to increase college-going and completion rates, including the development and implementation of the expansion of dual credit and Early College High Schools in Dallas County, resulting in over 15,000 Dallas County students participating in DCCCD College dual credit courses and eighteen new Dallas ISD Early College High Schools by Fall, 2017, for a total of 30 DCCCD Early College High Schools. She is also the team lead for the District-wide DCCCD Texas Pathways Project team, which is developing guided pathways for certificate and degree programs and transfer programs as “career paths,” as well as designing new academic advising, career services and student services roles to align with guided pathways. She was previously Executive Vice President of Student Services and Instruction at Cedar Valley College and Director and Systems Manager of Student Success Services at Sinclair Community College. Anna has learned much in over thirty years in higher education, which started with a B.A in Secondary Education (University of Arizona) and M.Ed. in Counseling (University of Dayton).
