I obtained my Bachelor's in Chemistry/Biochemistry (1982) from Sophia College in Bombay. I then obtained my M.S. in Biochemistry (1988) in Dr. David Metzler's lab who is also an author of a Biochemistry textbook. My thesis title is "Spectrophotometric studies of Tryptophanase from E.coli". I then worked in two research labs as Research Technician and Sr. Research Technician. The first at Cornell University in Dr. Andre Bensadoun's lab and the second Hershey Medical Center in Dr. Anthony Pegg's lab. (1988-1995). The experiments were in Molecular Biology-DNA extraction, DNA sequencing, Northern/Southern blots, RNA transfections, cloning, etc. I have been listed as an author in several articles published at the two places. I have been an Educator since 1995. The majority of courses I have taught have been in Biology-Introductory Biology, General Biology, Human Anatomy&Physiology, Nutrition and Survey of Life Science. I have also taught Introductory Chemistry and Physiological Chemistry. Besides teaching I have authored and co-authored books. I enjoy reviewing textbooks and have my name listed in a few textbooks and lab manuals including Biology by Campbell, 9th Edition. I am currently pursuing my Doctorate in Education with Elearning specialization at Northcentral University.
