About the Presenter

Karen Kaiser is Professor of Sociology and Coordinator for the Behavioral Sciences at Hill College. She holds a PhD in Sociology from UNT, with concentrations in Secondary Education and Criminal Justice. Her research background largely focused on the justice system and social inequality, with a particular emphasis on poverty and its impacts on the family and mental wellness. Dr. Kaiser began teaching in 2001, to auditoriums full of shining student faces and chalk dust. Today, she teaches primarily and increasingly via distance learning.
