District Director of Strategic Initiatives


Doris Rousey has demonstrated outstanding leadership, dedicated service, and excellence in communication, cooperation, and collaboration in her efforts to support the North Texas Early College High School Consortium, the AAS-BAAS Transfer Collaborative, and the AAC&U GEMs Pathways Project for the North Texas Community College Consortium.

In her role as Executive Dean of Educational Partnerships at Brookhaven College, Doris worked with the North Texas Community College Consortium to plan and host the North Texas Early College High School Consortium summer workshop at Brookhaven College in June of 2015. She collaborated with school district leaders, ECHS principals and counselors, community college ECHS partners across North Texas, and regional universities to foster communication, cooperation, and collaboration among institutions.

In addition to her work with Early College High Schools, Doris has demonstrated outstanding leadership and dedicated service in support of the North Texas Community College Consortium AAS-BAAS Transfer Collaborative, serving as a founding member of the collaborative and supporting its work to create a regional AAS-BAAS template. In her current role as District Director of Strategic Initiatives at Dallas County Community College District, she has leveraged the work of the AAS-BAAS Transfer Collaborative to pilot multi-institutional collaboration and use of the regional template in the DCCCD/DISD Collegiate Academies.

Finally, Doris has provided outstanding leadership, dedicated service, and excellence in communication, cooperation and collaboration as one of the Dallas County Community College District representatives serving in the American Association of Colleges & Universities General Education Maps and Markers (GEMs) Pathways Project in conjunction with Collin College, the University of North Texas, and the North Texas Community College Consortium. This multi-institutional collaboration furthers the work of the AAS-BAAS Transfer Collaborative through a focused project mapping learning outcomes and marketable skills in Criminal Justice programs at all three institutions and fostering transfer and degree completion.
