Jesse Jones served as President of the North Texas Community College Consortium for more than 20 years before retiring in 2014. Jesse was the founder of the Consortium Leadership and Renewal Academy (CLARA), which has been training leaders for community colleges in the North Texas region since 2002.
Upon his retirement, the Board of Directors of the North Texas Community College Consortium voted to honor Dr. Jones for his years of dedicated service by creating the award which bears his name. The award is given annually at the Fall Leadership Conference. Award nominees are selected by college presidents at the summer board meeting, and the winner is selected by the board from among the nominees.
Dr. Jones was awarded the 1st Annual Jesse Jones Leadership Award in September, 2014.
