Session Description

Present the intervention process for students on probation, Pathways to Academic Student Success which south campus advising and counseling center choose to create in an effort to prevent further academic decline. This session will detail the conception, rational, PASS process and statistical outcomes. We will lead participants through case studies.

Goals for this session include:

  1. Discuss the History and Evolution of PASS
  2. Present the Success Rates of PASS students
  3. Outline the PASS Process for South Campus
  4. Discuss the use of the PASS Contract
  5. Provide group participation in Case Scenarios

Full Description

The presentation entails the attempt to meet the WIG goals (Wildly Important Goals) set by the District, the south campus advising and counseling center choose to create an intervention process for students on probation, Pathways to Academic Student Success (PASS), in an effort to prevent further academic decline. Two of the PASS team members attended NACADA Summer Institute to assist in developing a plan for South Campus. This session will detail the conception, rational, the PASS process and statistical outcomes. The use of the Learning and Study Strategies Inventory (LASSI), as a tool to assist the students. We will lead participants through case studies of probation students.
