About the Presenter

For over thirty years, Dr. Chemene Crawford has served as an educational administrator, instructor, and consultant. In 2014, Dr. Crawford joined the El Centro College leadership team as the Vice President of Student Services and Enrollment Management. Dr. Crawford has also authored a study of California’s Chief Executive Officers, and conducted research on the development of 4- year degree programs at community colleges, which was the topic of her doctoral dissertation. Dr. Crawford has served on numerous local, regional, and national committees and association boards for student advocacy. She has received numerous professional awards and is recognized as a leader within the higher education community. Most recently, Dr. Crawford was selected as the NASPAA Region III Outstanding Community College Professional for 2016. She is currently serving as the President of the Southern Region for the National Council on Black American Affairs, and as President Elect of the National Council on Black American Affairs, which is an affiliate council of the American Association of Community Colleges.
